Hypocrites thrive on these sorts of occasions. It's Holocaust Day, a fine time to put on One's serious face and intone, "Nevermore." Six million dead Jews are more than enough. The rest of us ought to feel shame for our Silence, as everyone knew what the Nazis Were doing. "Next time, we'll speak up," The hypocrites say, but, as they proclaim Themselves righters of wrongs, the offspring Of those who who were killed in the Holocaust March into towns on the West Bank and murder The Arabs they've turned into prisoners There. The hypocrites know what the Monsters are doing, but, once again, None of them speaks. © Lawrence Beck 2023
